Modern life is full of stress. No one can escape it. Invariably we all become victims of it, howsoever nicely we organize our home, health, finance and relationships but one thing or the other crops up and saps our energy. Sometimes, life seems unmanageable and we rush to psychiatrists, healers, tarot readers and what not.
I have had a roller coaster ride life in the past two decades. And surprisingly, I have evolved in this phase and cultivated my own coping-up mechanism.
For me giving vent to my emotional turbulence …. heals a lot.
It is cathartic to have a good cry alone or share one’s insecurities with a friend.
Being cocooned for long does more harm than good.
Earlier, I used to have my periods of hibernation ; I realized over a period of time that this pattern is dysfunctional. If you can’t share with a friend, then pen-down your sorrows and pains. Pen is mightier than the sword but with me it acts as a healer.
After penning down my thoughts in the form of a poem, a story or an article… I feel completely relaxed. For me writing is therapeutic. It has a dual benefit of healing the writer and the reader both. Reader identifies with the author. Unknowingly, one is contributing to the welfare of other people who see their reflection in one’s predicament.
Moreover the mind becomes devoid of its agony and becomes receptive once again to newer, fresher and energizing thoughts. This practice over a period of time helps in rebuilding new thought patterns and new associations. It elevates the mood gradually. DON’T expect miracles overnight, after-all Rome was not built in a day. Be on your own journey.
BE IN FULL COMMAND OF YOURSELF. CULTIVATE A NEW HOBBY…. GARDENING, MUSIC, POTTERY,YOGA… ANYTHING THAT YOU FIND JOYOUS. THE TRANSFORMATION HAS TO COME FROM WITHIN.
BE YOUR BEST FRIEND AND YOUR OWN VALENTINE !!!!!
