Have you ever felt like giving up on your goal after months (or years) of pursuing it with no results? You’re not alone.
I once worked 14-hour days for 6 months to create an online course and prepare for its launch. When the big day to launch the course arrived, I was rewarded for my hard work with…nothing. Not one sale. The disappointment weighed so heavily on me that I considered quitting. After days drowning in dark feelings, I decided to do whatever it took to regain my motivation.
Here are the 7 steps to stay motivated even when you see no results:
1. Stop what you’re doing
If you insist on getting back to work when you are disappointed and unmotivated, you’re likely to make the same mistakes that prevented your success. Instead, take a day or even a week off to recharge and clear your mind. In my case, I drove to the coast and went for a long walk along the beach. The energy of the crashing waves took my mind away from what had happened.
2. Keep failure in perspective
Your efforts haven’t panned out. But is your goal a lost case? Contemplate whether the failure lies in the way you’re attempting to achieve your goal rather than in the goal itself. I realized I had made costly mistakes marketing my course, but this didn’t mean that I couldn’t succeed with this or future online training programs, or that my business was doomed.
“A failure is not a loss. It’s a gain. You learn. You change. You grow.” – Michael Barata
3. Take inventory of what you have accomplished
It’s easy to forget how far you have come. Take a moment to search through old emails, documents or journals. Did you know as much as you know now? Most likely, you’ll realize that you have grown personally and professionally over time. You have probably acquired new skills and gained knowledge that position you for future success. It’s time to give yourself a pat on the back! I searched for the first course I produced, and laughed at how rudimentary it was compared to my new programs. I had grown. I had improved. As a result, I felt my confidence soar.
4. Ask for feedback
Before you take further action, reach out to those who support you, especially your mentors. Ask them for candid feedback on what they think you could do better, and listen without judging or becoming offended. External feedback coupled with your own insights will help you pinpoint what isn’t working and will inspire you to find new ways to achieve what you desire. I was lucky to count on the members of my mastermind, who offered their ideas on what I could do better to launch my online program.
5. Create a detailed plan to change what isn’t working
When you lack results, you might feel that you have lost control of your destiny, which is a sure motivation killer. A detailed plan of action is essential to regain a feeling of control—and your motivation. I reworked my entire marketing plan, and devised more engaging ways to reach my audience. The clearer my plan became, the more empowered I felt to succeed.
List every action that isn’t yielding results, and ask yourself whether you can completely eliminate the task or change the way you are approaching it. For example, if you are in business on your own and social media isn’t working to get new clients, either switch your efforts to another lead generation tool or change your social media strategy.
6. Execute a quick-action item
Nothing feels better than accomplishing something that will help you achieve your goal. Find a quick task that is likely to yield positive results. Your sense of accomplishment will fuel your enthusiasm for what you do.My new marketing plan included contacting a list of possible joint-venture partners.
I reached out to most people on my list in a day, and the next day I was rewarded with my first few positive answers. I felt a renewed sense of hope in my own ability to succeed. What could you do today to build the positive momentum you need to stay motivated? Take immediate action.
“The path to success is to take massive determined action.” – Anthony Robbins
7. Celebrate small successes
No matter what little progress you make, congratulate yourself for what you have accomplished. You will feel empowered to take the next step in your plan, and if you continue celebrating your wins, you’ll create a self-perpetuating cycle of winning actions. I created an Excel log with my small successes, which I checked daily. As the success log expanded, so did my confidence and motivation.
Remain patient as you work toward your goal, and remember that undesirable results can become opportunities to grow and to find new, exciting ways to succeed.

Being a millionaire is very rare in our society. Many work their whole lives and never reach that status. Of course, they’ll validate that any way they can, saying things like “I don’t care about money,” “Millionaires aren’t happy,” “I don’t need that much money.”
I’m sure you can think of 30 other validations. You don’t make a million by accident, and if it’s not a goal you sure as hell won’t hit it.
This article isn’t about the money, it’s about interrupting the belief system you currently have and propelling you toward real wealth. Here is what I’ve discovered over the past 10 years and the common themes you’ll see in all Young Millionaires.
The best companies on the planet love young talent, they love those who are on purpose, and those with a sense of urgency to their life. Google is hiring more teenagers than college graduates, and even a 12-year-old who is just beginning high school.
Realize, now matters more than any other time, and the “someday isle” mentality is killing so many dreams. Opportunities are only opportunities if you’re taking full advantage of them. Young millionaires always do, and they are consistently reaching for new goals and ambitions. You must have a sense of urgency that most of society doesn’t have if you’re serious about success.
2. Elevated influence
Behind every young millionaire you’ll find an educated and wise mentor. I have yet to meet any millionaires or billionaires who don’t have mentors that guide them, challenge them, and focus them on thinking bigger. They understand deep down that it’s impossible to grow, learn, and become the person needed to reach the million mark without an exceptional network behind you.
Success rises and falls on who you associate with so make sure you stay aware of your surroundings. You can systematize a lot of things, but you can’t systematize time so make sure you’re always spending it with the right people.
3. Maximizing their strengths
We’re conditioned by our teachers, peers, parents, uneducated coaches and everybody else pumped to give advice that you must “learn to work on your weaknesses,” and “strengthen your weaknesses,” but all young millionaires focus 100 percent on their best skills and strengths. They learn to surround themselves with people who compliment their weaknesses, or they delegate them. You’ll never get wealthy focusing on things you aren’t good at. What is your one thing? What can you become the best at?
Now, once you master that area, and start producing real results, you can then move to something else. The jack of all trades is seldom exceptional at anything, and usually broke as well.
4. Never trade time for money
Young Millionaires realize they’ll never become wealthy trading time for money, and neither will you. It’s ok for awhile, but at some point you have to focus on scaling and leverage.
One of the reasons entrepreneurship, network marketing, direct sales and internet businesses are growing exponentially is because of the endless possibilities and upside. It’s not easy, and it takes risk, but you must see past the risk and focus on the rewards. Focus on the power of leverage and how to create consistent income without trading time for money. Investment properties, membership sites, building a brand, partnerships, affiliate marketing, different types of programs, etc.
Take some time to really analyze if you’re maximizing your time. If you are trading time for money make sure it’s an intelligent trade.
5. They don’t worry what others think of them
You must drop the need to be liked if you want an extraordinary life. People who care what others think of them will always be limited to others opinions. You best believe Young Millionaires take very few opinions and have extremely thick skin. They study how to be mentally tough.
When you pursue greatness don’t expect others to support you, because you’ll represent the courage, strength, and vision they don’t yet have. The remarkable innovator, Steve Jobs use to say “your time is limited so don’t waste it living somebody else’s life.”
Young Millionaires trust their vision, and have an unshakable confidence in what they do, even when everyone else is doubting it. I challenge you to stay fearless in everything you do. The reason most don’t take risks, live on the edge or push the envelope is the fear of what others might think of them. If you want to live the life you truly deserve, one of significance and fulfillment you must give up the need to be liked by everybody.
6. Producer first, consumer second
MJ Demarco in “The Millionaire Fast Lane,” talks about the importance of being a producer first, and a consumer second.
Here is an excerpt: “Applied, this means instead of buying products on TV, sell products. Instead of digging for gold, sell shovels. Instead of taking a class, offer a class. Instead of borrowing money, lend it. Instead of taking a job, hire for jobs. Instead of taking a mortgage, hold a mortgage. Break free from consumption, switch sides, and reorient to the world as producer. To consume richly, produce richly first. Unfortunately, most people have it backward: consumption and no production. Producers get rich. Consumers get poor. Switch teams and reorient as a producer first, a consumer second. Make wealth attracted to you!”
Those focused on building something bigger than themselves, and those on purpose, are always producing results, not consuming.
I challenge you to take these serious and become more intentional in all you do.
Most people spend the first half of their lives saying they are too young, and the second half saying they’re too old. The time is now, and there is no tomorrow for champions. This is the greatest time in human history for those who take 100 percent responsibility for their economic well being.
Respect to you and the progress you’re making towards a world class life.

At different stages of our life, we are all going to face some sort of serious adversity whether we like it or not. The adversity will come when you least expect it so knowing how to deal with it is key. To be able to deal with adversity you need some strong references and an understanding of the advantages – this is what I will give you in this article.
I have gone through many adversities in my life and each time one happens, I use previous experiences to be able to deal with them. The strange thing for me now is that I actually love adversity. It’s a sign from the universe that things are about to go really well for me.
When your life gets tough what are you going to do about it? Are you going to spend all your time sulking and focusing on what’s wrong or are you going to build a bridge and get over it? It’s this decision that will determine your success.
I can promise you that if you learn how to deal with adversity then not only can you help yourself, you can serve others in a way you have never done so before. You can become that shining light that everyone want’s to be around. You can achieve levels of human endurance that have never been achieved before.
You can change the world with a new idea or a new technology. Don’t be afraid of adversity, welcome it, understand it and know that everything in your life is temporary. Work on yourself, work on your mind and start to develop a new set of beliefs that are going to empower you when you are faced with adversity.
So let’s get into it. Here are six epic lessons you can learn from serious adversity.
1. You’re about to rise up from nothing
Up until this point, you may have been just barely getting through life and not really knowing what your purpose is. When adversity hits (and I mean serious adversity) everything changes in a single moment.Suddenly you stop forgetting about how your hair looks or what you are having for lunch.
Suddenly you are forced into survival mode and the mental patterns that you have learned over the years are disrupted. Adversity is the best thing that has ever happened in your life. It means that you are going to rise up because you will be forced to become stronger.
No longer will you just drift through life because adversity will make you rethink everything you have done to date. It will make you ask yourself what your purpose really is. It will make you ask yourself whether you are really happy.
If the answer to both of these questions is not what you hoped for, that’s okay because you now have an opportunity to change it. You now have some space in your life as you deal with adversity to come up with another strategy for how you want to live going forward.
Know this, if you allow adversity to empower you, and you take the positives from it, you will rise up amongst everyone else like you never have before. You will walk, talk and act in an empowering way. You will achieve your purpose and your goals, and it will be all thanks to your new friend adversity!
2. Until now things were too safe
One of the reasons I believe adversity comes into our lives is because it’s a sign that things were too safe. Without some sort of difficult situation, the fact is that you’re not going to change, and you are going to keep doing what is comfortable.
The world wants more from you yet you have been ignoring the signs, so hopefully adversity is your new wake up call.
“Being comfortable will never allow you to live your wildest dreams, and you will just waste this one chance at human life that you have been given”
Stop kidding yourself about what you have done before; it’s not the most that you can possibly achieve! Let adversity allow you another chance to do what you do and go up another level.
3. You deserve better
Depending on the type of adversity you face, often we can realise that we deserve better than what we were accomplishing before. Sometimes it is really hard to know if there is something better out there for you because all have known up until now is what you have already got.
The brilliance of adversity is that it makes you think to yourself that you deserve better and that you don’t want your life to reflect the tragedy or pain that the adversity has given you. Sobbing for an extended period of time is not going to get you what you want. You deserve better so stand up tall, visualise what you want and go get it!
4. What the adversity means will shape you
If you break adversity down into what it really does at the most basic level, it allows you to change the meaning of the difficult situation, and of your life, at the same time. This is a double-edged sword because you can either get major benefits or serious downsides.
The outcome will come down to one very important thing, what the adversity means to you and how you interpret it. By looking at it from a positive lens, it can shape you for the better. It can be the catalyst for you deciding to do something new or starting a new business.
The challenge is that seeing the good from adversity can be quite hard to do. Just remember that if you see adversity as a bad thing then you will only have pain to deal with. You don’t want pain do you? Great, so then you only have one choice and the decision has already been made for you.
This adversity is the best thing that has ever happened to you, and you are going to do amazing things with the new opportunities it presents – trust me.
5. You can’t change it, but you can learn from it
There is another important lesson to learn from adversity; you can’t change it. No matter how hard you try the adversity has happened and it can’t be erased. Arnold Schwarzenegger is not going to come from nowhere and throw a grenade at it for you.
So given that there is no way to stop the adversity from happening, the only thing you can do is learn from it. In very difficult situations, the lessons you can learn are far greater than the lessons you will learn from normal everyday situations.
While you still need everyday lessons too, the lessons you get from adversity are far greater and have the potential to massively change the way you are, and your future results. By looking at any great startup success story, almost always, there was some type of adversity that sparked the decision to start a business. Maybe adversity is the push you need to get into action.
6. It’s time to re-focus and do what matters to you
Adversity is a forced way for you to refocus. You have no choice but to change what you are currently doing. Often distractions will stop you from staying focused on what you love doing. When you face a serious adversity, you often take a break from work to deal with it.
It’s during this crucial break time that you get a chance to breathe and think about the adversity or person involved in the adversity. Your brain will spend time recalibrating itself, and the neural pathways will change in some way if you let them.
During this downtime, you need to spend time thinking about what matters to you. Chances are the adversity is going to help you do this anyway but just make sure you’re conscious of it. If during this time you discover that what matters to you the most has been neglected, then that’s a great lesson, because you now have the chance to rectify that going forward.
Each day, if you are not doing what matters to you the most, then you will be very unhappy, and that’s no way to live this one life you have been given.
“Don’t think about the time you have lost, but instead, think about the time you have now gained thanks to this opportunity to refocus”
You were put on this planet for a reason, and adversity is only going to help you live your purpose and take charge of your life once and for all. Assuming you got this lesson from adversity, no longer will you wake up late and be uninspired or settle for second best ever again – you’re too important to the world!
I hope this article has helped you see some of the lessons adversity can give you. From now on I hope that you will look forward to adversity and know that there is a change coming. It’s a big one, and only the bold like you can face it, and overcome it.
Don’t ever let others tell you that this adversity means your life is going to be worse than before – they are wrong, and you’re smarter than that. During this difficult time, go back to the basics of self-development and you will have all the tools you need. Tools like visualising, looking at your beliefs, setting your goals, consuming empowering content and just taking a break, will serve you well.

Do you sometimes find yourself stuck in the past? Do you find that you regularly have regrets about some of the decisions you’ve made? Don’t be too hard on yourself, we’ve all been there.
We all have a past, and that past could be the reason many of us can’t seem to breakthrough in life. We all go through those stages in our lives where we spent so much time dwelling on our past that we fail to see the new opportunities that are presenting themselves daily.
There may have been many opportunities lost or mistakes made, but those will never return, so you need to let go and go after those opportunities that are constantly presenting themselves to you now. The future is the place you can repair all the damages you have done to your life.
Here are the eight steps on how to leave the past behind and look forward to the future with great expectation:
1. Call them all by name
Give all your mistakes, shame, disappointments and failures a name. Write them down where you can see them. Call them all out by name, and then rip up the paper or burn it afterward. See this as you releasing yourself from those bondages. Refuse to remain imprisoned by your past.
“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” – Albert Einstein
2. Respect your past mistakes
Your mistakes were part of your experience at the time. Look back at them and respect yourself for making those mistakes when you did because you now have the time to make things right. You should not be happy you messed up but see it as part of the learning process. Because of those mistakes, you are now a different person. Those mistakes that you look back at with such disdain are the very reason you are who you are today. Celebrate the fact that you have learned your lesson well.
3. Do not devalue your achievements
When you spend your time regretting the past, you are ignoring and diminishing all that you have achieved because the past mistakes are the ones that get all the credit. Focus on your achievements and not on the mistakes and in turn you will realize that your mistakes were not that serious. You focusing on them makes them bigger than they truly are.
4. Do not let your mistakes be your story
If you are constantly being reminded of the mistakes you made, you will make the things you did, your life story. You never want some of the best times of your life to be overshadowed by your mistakes, which were only a very small portion of your life. If you were asked to write the story of your life would your past mistakes be the majority of the story? I guess not, so leave the past in the past and move on.
5. Do not ruin your present life with the past
Do not erase your present life by staying in the past. You cannot spend your time worrying about the things you should have done differently. While dwelling on your past, you are dishonoring your present life. You won’t be able to be happy where you are now. Do not rob yourself of your happiness.
6. Do not miss the lessons in your past mistakes
For many of us our mistakes are how we define ourselves. You must remember your mistakes aren’t who you are. Do not miss the lessons to be learned from those things that are now not important in your life. Unfortunately, life gives us the test first and then teaches us the lessons afterward. Your mistakes are only part of the learning process. The messages in your past are to be used to build yourself a future that is rich, happy and successful.
“A man’s mistakes are his portals of discovery.” – James Joyce
7. Forgive so you can move forward
Too many times we hold ourselves hostage by not forgiving others and ourselves for past indiscretions. To move forward, you have to let go of the hurt and pain that has been holding you back. Forgiveness allows you to move ahead freely. Forgiveness does more for you than for anyone else. Let go so you can live freely.
8. Use your past mistakes to help others
We all have things in our past that make us feel ashamed. You are no different but do not let them keep you from forging a new future. Use your past experiences to help others who find themselves in similar situations. Use whatever it is you are ashamed of as an example to others. Let them know it’s never too late to become the person they want to become.
We all have things in our lives that we are not proud of and would love to erase from our memories but remember those are the things that make us who we are today. Do not be embarrassed by your past because those are the parts of your life that has made you stronger, wiser and more able to deal with life.
Everyday’s a new day to start all over and to learn something new. What are your plans for the future? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below!
