In our hectic life, it is not always possible to schedule time for working out, let alone practice yoga.
Though there can be no replacement for the complete session, you can easily include some of the following postures in your daily life. Read on!
1. Yoga at Office
Who says that you cannot squeeze in some time for yoga, in the midst of a busy workday? The following exercise can be easily done at one’s desk.
The Warrior Pose
This exercise corrects the spinal posture and helps relax the upper body. Here are the steps for the same:
i. Step One
Stretch out your arms, with the fingers pointing outward.
ii. Step Two
With your right foot forward, take a step in the outward direction bending your knee and keeping your left foot straight.
iii. Step Three
Hold this position for 10 seconds while you breathe in a slow rhythmic manner, keeping your upper body at rest.
iv. Step Four
Switch sides and repeat this posture with the other foot.
2. Yoga while Cooking
While you saute your tomatoes and wait for the eggs to boil, you can perform this exercise with ease.
This exercise propounds the ancient way of breathing appropriately, through the diaphragm instead of the stomach. It improves circulation and concentration. Some yoga experts believe that, regular practicing can help one lose weight and cure heart ailments as well.
i. Step One
Put your thumb on your left nostril.
ii. Step Two
Inhale as deeply as you can and hold the air in for some time. When you inhale, your belly should feel tension.
iii. Step Three
When you have to exhale, switch your thumb to block the left nostril and breathe out through the right. When exhaling, your belly should feel relaxed.
iv. Step Four
Repeat this process for half an hour.
3. Yoga while Bathing
You can perform the following exercise while taking a shower. The calming influence of water will enhance the healing effects of this posture.
This exercise brings about an agile flexibility in the neck and facilitates proper spinal health. Performing this regularly will keep chances of incurring spondylitis away.
i. Step One
Keep your body upright and chin relaxed to perform this exercise.
ii. Step Two
Inhale while lowering your neck, as far as possible, gradually lifting it to its starting position.
iii. Step Three
Exhale having reached the neutral position.
iv. Step Four
While inhaling slowly, tilt your head to the right. Exhale and return to the neutral position.
v. Step Five
Try this posture for the back and left in the similar way. Having completed all four rounds, rotate your head slowly in the clockwise direction once.
vi. Step Six
While you bring your head to the neutral position, breathe slowly.
vii. Step Seven
Rotate your head in the counter-clockwise direction, while breathing in the manner explained above.
By following the suggested exercises, you will be able to partake of the benefits of yoga, without actually having to perform lengthy workout routines.
Bruce Lee was a Hong Kong American actor, filmmaker, martial artist, and the inventor of Jeet Kune Do, a style of martial arts. He was also an impressive philosopher who had a brilliant outlook on life. These are my favorite bits of advice from him.

Reincarnation is becoming a more common topic. Even just decades ago, the belief was relegated to its origins – in the far east. Lately it’s becoming popular all over the world. While polls have found that Americans’ belief in God has declined, our belief in reincarnation remains steady at about 25%.
Reincarnation is the belief that you aren’t born, then live, and then die forever. Reincarnation is the idea that we’re born, die, and then born again. Some think that reincarnation serves the purpose of teaching our souls some major lesson, allowing them to pass to heaven. Others think that it’s a continual process and there’s no stopping it.
With more and more people signing onto the idea of reincarnation, these are signs that this isn’t your soul’s first rodeo.

It’s seemingly uncanny how well you can cut through BS. You’re hardly naive and you get the feeling that you’ve done it all before with people. You know flakiness and you don’t have any time for it. This is because you’ve gone through life a few times and are familiar with BS. Cherish this. Not everyone has it.

It’s an awfully odd sensation, not knowing exactly where home is for you. Noplace on Earth really calls to you, beckoning you to rest your weary eyes. It’s as if you’re homesick for your childhood home, but you’re still in your childhood home.
Your soul may be longing for what some call “Heaven” or “The Spirit World.” It maybe that the place we go between lives is awesome. Maybe it’s just so beautiful, wonderful, and peaceful. Maybe we meet our old friends and relatives there. It’s hard to know how much time we may even spend their between lives.
3. You’re especially keen on life’s lessons.
Everywhere you turn, you seem to be learning some grand life lesson. You’re going through things emotionally and you feel like, in this life, you’re evolving a lot. This may mean that your soul is maturing. It may mean that your soul is ready to embark on its next, non-Earthly adventure.
It’s thought that souls may grow over time and lives and that the hardships we experience grow it. IF you feel like you’re learning a lot of lessons in this life, your soul is probably just growing up.
The lie of multitasking and why you need to stop
If you think that multitasking is an indicator of efficiency and smartness, then this is the article for you!! Actually, multitasking is a bad idea; rather, frequent multitasking shrinks your brain and lowers your IQ. And wait, there is more….well, far from saving you time, multitasking cuts your productivity by a whopping 40 percent! That’s because as you switch from task to task, your brain reacts to the feeling of newness with a jolt of dopamine – the same brain chemical that causes heroin addiction.
A frightening discovery
You may think you’re taking part in a conference call, writing a report, and texting home all at the same time, but what your brain is actually doing is switching non-stop among these different activities.
That’s costing you both efficiency and brain cells. Multitasking lowers your IQ, shrinks your brain, and cuts your productivity – and it’s addictive.
A few more facts
What multi-taskers do not realise is that they are actually devolving their brain. Rather than following our ancestors’ lead by training the brain to learn and be creative through deep focus, they are actually following the path of the side-sighted animals. By multi-tasking, they are attempting to apply the logic of their limbic system – which can only handle simple problems like 10×5 – to much more complicated tasks. This can be extremely dangerous.
The damages of multi-tasking
Not only will this lead to low-quality work, but it will also strengthen the limbic system, which also motivates us to indulge in unhealthy food, give up on challenging tasks and skip our workouts. Essentially, the more you multi-task, the weaker your willpower becomes.
Multi-tasking is distracting
These days, most of us are our own secretaries. The filter is gone and while we can choose whether or not to answer a particular call, e-mail or text, just making that decision requires multi-tasking. It reduces our attention to whatever our pre-frontal cortex was doing before the interruption, and studies show it can cause us to be as much as 40 percent less productive.
How to stop multitasking and get work done:
The myth persists, however, that multitasking is the best way to work. Peruse any job website and you’ll find literally thousands of descriptions making it clear that those who can’t handle “multitasking” need not apply. There is little to no scientific proof that multitasking enhances performance, and real evidence that dividing one’s attention might actually be detrimental.
Here’s how to get rid of the habit of multitasking
1. Give yourself permission to think and be alone
Your best ideas and deepest insights will come when detached from your everyday routine. Seek alone time and keep it sacred on your calendar. Remember, companies hire employees to help animate and implement their ideas. The real purpose of your employment lies in your intellectual capital: the thoughts you have and the ideas you generate. Multitasking only detracts from this.
2. Do one thing at a time
Contrary to the multi tasker’s creed, you’ll actually get more tasks done by doing them individually. Not just that, you’ll do it quicker and with fewer mistakes and less rework.
3. Be present
Be present with your work and with those you are working with. Stay on your current todo and don’t let your focus float to other tasks. This means not checking email while you are meeting with someone. And it means not working during that meeting on your laptop.
4. Finish before you start
Make sure you finish tasks to closure before starting the next one. There is great productivity momentum in finishing things to done before taking on the next task. Don’t let small tasks interrupt big ones Resist letting small items interrupt big ones. Don’t pick up that 2-minute task just because it’s easy. Don’t answer that email just because you saw it drop into your inbox.
5. Put down the tech
Technology has allowed us to work anywhere. That doesn’t mean you should. Close your email, turn off the phone, and put down the unneeded tech while you are working.
6. Learn how to improve your concentration
Doing this may feel awkward at first if you frequently multitask. But you’ll be surprised at how much you get done just by concentrating on one thing at a time.Designate time to work on one task or project. Go to a meeting room or work location if it helps concentrate on the task at hand.
7. Write down your tasks
You might want to do every item as it arrives on your agenda, but that is not an efficient way to handle your duties. When new ideas pop up, briefly jot down a note or put it on your calendar for future reference. Go back to your original task. Writing it down allows your brain to set it aside and refocus.
8. Group similar tasks
It is easier to write 15 checks at once than it is to write one check 15 times. So, group your bill paying into a single block of time. Check your email at certain times, resisting the temptation to switch windows as soon as you receive a new one. While there are always important items on the agenda, every email can wait for a few minutes before you respond.
9. Commit to your choices
Single-tasking obliges you to do one thing at a time—excluding any other demands at that moment. This means you must stand firm and genuinely commit to your choices. You can manage your next task after working on the existing one. You don’t have to complete every task all at once, just the current period of time dedicated to it.
10. Say No early, and often
Attempting to be all things to all people is more than unrealistic—it’s a recipe for disaster. It’s perfectly fine, even means you’re being responsible, not to respond to every request immediately. “No, I can’t right now” is not equivalent to “No, I won’t ever do it.” By saying no, you’ll be free from the constant frustration of half-finished tasks.
11. Set goals
Know what you’re going to do before you start doing it. If you have no clear path, distractions can come easily. Before starting a new task, take a few minutes to plan out the steps you’ll need to complete and in what order—that way, you’ll be less able to wander. An important step of goal setting? A quality to-do list!
Studies suggest that regular meditation can boost brain function and is associated with better focus and attention. It can also help reduce stress when a massive to-do list is looming.

It’s actually good to be an atheist and not a believer.Atheism has shown me things I would have never thought of as a devout person. I often wonder why people pray to God. I don’t mean people like saints or seers,but just normal people like you and me. Is it for material gain, for someone else or for your own self? Or is it just to vent out your frustrations? This all might sound surprising, but this is the truth.And my change from a believer to an atheist showed me this with stunning clarity: that people pray to get relief, and to escape from the burgeoning problems of their daily, humdrum lives.They desperately want to believe that their problems will be cured by an invisible entity,almost like magic! They look to seek release from the pain and frustration they face through communion with God.To put it very simply: people are cowardly by nature.They can’t face problems on their own and want to depend on an omnipresent entity to solve problems and give them the happy ending of a fairy tale like Snow White and Prince Charming.To complete the metaphor,they liken problems to the evil stepmother who is the queen;the pain caused by problems is the poisoned apple.
I mean,come on.When you can’t respect the person who is washing your dishes and cleaning your floors, how can you actually expect a ‘higher power’ to respect you?
There’s another kick to atheism.Atheism develops your belief in yourself, which is good for people with low self-esteem.You can feel the power you have; the realisation that you don’t have to depend on someone to fix your problems is a powerful one; you are the one who’s in control. Also, atheism lends unbelievable clarity to the mind — it has actually made me better in math than ever before.You can think clearly, abstractly and reason logically, without blaming it all on ‘divine happenings’.
A bit of logical reasoning can take you eons ahead of others; for this is the thing — people want to believe in something, depend on something, which makes them weak.When you don’t depend on anyone or anything for yourself, you are powerful in a unique way. Yes, atheism is empowering.

Some children react more strongly to negative experiences than others. Researchers from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) have found a link between aggression and variants of a particular gene.
But children who react most aggressively also tend to respond more strongly to good experiences, the Norwegian researchers found. These children’s mood swings have deeper valleys, but also greater peaks.
Aggression is common in young children. Aggressive behaviour increases until children are around 4 years old, and then gradually subsides.
Research has shown that children who struggle with aggressive behaviour when they are young often carry these problems into puberty.
But aggression in children is not necessarily all bad. It may be a logical response to external factors, for example if children are exposed to violence and abuse.
Not only can aggression be the right response to an external influence, it may also be helpful to have more aggressive individuals among us.
In a stable situation with adequate resources, people with a stable temperament have an advantage. Individuals with a more variable disposition may overreact to even minor changes, which can be an evolutionary disadvantage.
But as soon as conditions change, such as an increase in the struggle for resources, those who react more strongly to external influences have the advantage.
According to some American scientists, probably the best scenario for a population is to have a broad mix of people with varying tendencies to react aggressively.
Aggression is the result of both genetics and environment, making it interesting to examine how genes and environment interact. How do people with different genotypes react to different environmental conditions?
In a group of children, some will be more aggressive than others. Some will react strongly to stress, while others maintain their equilibrium in almost any situation. The child’s genes can at least partly explain this phenomenon.
The Norwegian research group is led by Beate W. Hygen of NTNU’s Department of Psychology and NTNU Social Research. Researchers found a correlation between aggression and the particular gene variants present in children when they had experienced or not experienced serious life events.
This gene is involved in dopamine breakdown in the brain.
This finding was in itself a confirmation of earlier studies, but the Norwegian researchers also found that children who were more aggressive when they were exposed to stress, were the least aggressive when they were not exposed to stress.
This indicated that they had a tendency to greater variation in behaviour in both directions than their less aggressive counterparts.
These research findings help to substantiate the theory, referred to as “differential susceptibility,” that some individuals are more susceptible to environmental conditions, for better or for worse, partly because of their genotype.
Previously, scientists thought that some children are more vulnerable than others when experiencing trauma or stress, and that these vulnerable children function on an equal footing with others in positive environmental conditions.
Differential susceptibility theory argues that those individuals most affected by adverse conditions may also benefit most from positive conditions.
That is, these individuals function better under positive environmental influences than those who are not as susceptible to environmental conditions.
The results of the Norwegian study were recently published in Developmental Psychology.
The basis of the Norwegian research is the study Tidlig Trygg i Trondheim, in which about 1,000 children, their parents and teachers participated.
